Photos from the scene show the blades of a wind turbine crumpled in a heap on the ground.

Reports suggest parts of the wind turbine detached in the early hours of Tuesday morning amid thunderstorms and damaging winds.

No injuries have been reported, however, WorkSafe and Energy Safe Victoria personnel are onsite to investigate.

Berrybank Wind Farm owner Global Power Generation Australia has established an exclusion zone around the turbine and temporarily shut down the project.
