Edify Energy has reached a major delivery milestone for the Ganymirra and Majors Creek solar and battery hybrid projects in Queensland, securing financial close for both assets.
Located on Thul Garrie Waja country near Townsville in North Queensland, the Ganymirra and Majors Creek projects will be delivered as integrated hybrid energy assets, combining 360MWp of solar generation with 300MW/1,200MWh of battery storage through reverse DC-coupled technology and a single set of grid-forming inverters.

Once operational in 2028, the projects will generate enough electricity to power over 100,000 homes.
The projects are backed by the Australian Government’s Capacity Investment Scheme and are Edify’s third and fourth projects to reach financial close under the scheme.
The projects are supported by DT Infrastructure as EPC contractor, CATL as battery supplier and Powerlink as network and connection works head contractor.
Edify Energy CEO Ben Warne said, “Successive milestones across Smoky Creek, Guthrie’s Gap, Ganymirra and Majors Creek projects demonstrate the strength of our business, our people and our ability to consistently progress projects from concept to construction and play our part in accelerating the energy transition and ensuring low cost and reliable energy security.
“The combination of large-scale solar generation, reverse DC-coupled battery storage and advanced grid-forming technology means these projects can provide the affordance energy, reliability, flexibility and system support that the future electricity network requires.
