The Sustainable Energy Association of Australia (SEA) has welcomed Western Australian Energy Minister Peter Collier’s announcement of an industry, consumer and government roundtable to assist in developing the state’s future energy sector.
SEA has strongly supported the Western Australian Government’s efforts in energy market reform and is pleased to be appointed as a permanent member of the Roundtable of Energy Consumers and Industry.
The association will take up its position on the Roundtable as an advocate for investment in efficient electricity generation, as well as efficiency and innovation through retail choice and incentives.
“SEA supports markets that bring competitive pricing and innovative new products,” the association’s chief executive Kirsten Rose said.
“For the benefits of electricity reform to flow to small business and to residential consumers, the reform process needs to continue and bring about full retail contestability.”
