Marinus Link Pty Ltd (MLPL) has shortlisted two engineering and construction consortiums for the final major tender of Marinus Link’s first stage, prompting a callout to local Tasmanian and Victorian subcontractors.
TasVic Greenlink and Empower have been shortlisted to proceed to a ‘development phase’, which will commence a competitive and collaborative process to select a preferred proponent for the ‘Balance of Works’ package.

Local businesses in Tasmania and Victoria are encouraged to register their interest in subcontracting and attend Meet the Proponents events.
MLPL interim CEO Dr Collette Burke emphasised the opportunities for local businesses to participate during this phase.
“This major civils package will be the biggest opportunity yet for local businesses to benefit directly, and we’re working hard to maximise those benefits in Tasmania and Victoria,” Dr Burke said.
The Balance of Works tender is the final step before MLPL secures all three major equipment and installation contracts for the project’s first stage.
“Once we have closed out the Balance of Works’ development phase, we will be set to commence construction in 2026 and deliver by 2030,” Dr Burke said.
“This milestone follows the completion of two major tenders last year for submarine and land cables and the highly specialised converter station technology.”
The Balance of Works scope covers onshore civil and installation works, including constructing the converter station buildings and the land cable civil works.
TasVic Greenlink is a joint venture of DT Infrastructure and Samsung C&T Corporation.
