Someva Renewables and its joint venture partner AGL have announced that Pottinger Energy Park has been endorsed by the NSW Government through the Investment Delivery Authority (IDA) as one of 16 high-value projects across New South Wales.

The IDA was established by the NSW Government to support the delivery of major projects and boost investment by cutting through red tape. Selection is recognition of the importance of Pottinger Energy Park to NSW’s economy and energy transition.

IDA endorsement means that Pottinger Energy Park will receive specialist NSW Government support from a dedicated concierge service, a planning assessments team within the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, and from a multi-agency Investment Taskforce based in the Premier’s Department.

Pottinger Energy Park has now secured Commonwealth and NSW Independent Planning Commission approval, following the awarding of an 831MW Access Right in the SW REZ from EnergyCo in 2025.

The initial phase of construction will see approximately 831MW of generation capacity (approximately 115 turbines) built in line with the Access Right issued by EnergyCo and is anticipated to begin in late 2026, pending a final investment decision.

At its peak, Pottinger Energy Park could generate up to 1.3GW of energy, enough to power the equivalent annual needs of approximately 830,000 average NSW households.
