The 250MW Muskerry Solar Power Station is located 30km northeast of Bendigo and includes the construction of around half a million solar panels and a 200MW battery storage system connected to an existing transmission infrastructure.

The project will stretch across approximately 500ha of predominantly grazed land. The power station, once complete, could generate up to 612,000 MWh per annum of renewable energy.

Muskerry Solar Power Station will connect into the AusNet 220kV distribution system, providing green energy to 93,000 households. At peak construction, the project will employ approximately 350 staff, predominantly sourcing from the local community.

Minister for the Environment and Water, the Hon Tanya Plibersek MP said, “I’ve now approved 65 renewable energy projects—enough to power more than 7 million Australian homes.
