According to Renew Economy, The Greens have outlined plans for South Australia to source 100 per cent of its electricity needs from clean energy by 2030, generating 1000 jobs in the process.

The plan would also include a SolarReserve 100MW solar tower and storage plant near Port Augusta, Clean Technica reports.

The plan was made public by Greens leader Richard Di Natale and other senators, ahead of the federal election. Di Natale said the plan would require an investment of $15 billion over 15 years.

Labor premier Jay Weatherill also supports a 100 per cent renewable energy future, with the official state target set at 50 per cent by 2025.
