Flow Power has secured a five-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for its Cootamundra Energy Project in New South Wales with organics recycling firm SOILCO.

It is the first PPA to be signed for the project since battery storage was added to the existing solar farm in 2025.

SOILCO’s services enable councils and commercial waste generators to divert organic waste from landfill, helping materially reduce emissions across supply chains. As the business has grown, SOILCO’s electricity usage has also increased, creating the need for an energy solution that provided financial certainty in addition to supporting both operational growth and sustainability objectives.

The PPA is expected to reduce SOILCO’s electricity spend and SOILCO’s mScope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 10%.

Flow Power chief commercial officer Jacob Mahoney says the PPA reflects the growing role energy can play in strengthening sustainability outcomes across entire supply chains.

“Businesses are looking for practical ways to reduce emissions, not only within their own operations, but across the broader value chain they’re part of,” Mahoney says.

“SOILCO is a strong example of that shift. Its core service helps councils and businesses to reduce emissions, and this agreement supports that mission with renewable energy matched to the needs
of a growing business.
