Renewables developer Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV) Australia has announced the completion of the 300MW Walla Walla Solar Farm—the largest project in the company’s portfolio.
Located in the Riverina region of New South Wales, the project plays a critical role in meeting the state government’s renewable energy targets.

As one of the largest solar projects in the state, Walla Walla Solar Farm extends for 605ha and will produce enough clean energy to power around 90,000 Australian homes annually.
Before the start of its construction, FRV Australia signed a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Microsoft to supply renewable energy from the solar farm to the electricity grid.
Walla Walla Solar Farm represents the eighth operational project that is part of FRV Australia’s portfolio. Together, these projects have now a total power capacity of 993MW.
This milestone reflects FRV Australia’s continued growth and leadership in the renewable energy sector. Earlier this year, the company announced the acquisition of the 190MW Axedale Hybrid Solar & Battery Storage Project and is currently constructing the 100MW/200MWh Terang Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Victoria.

FRV Australia CEO Carlo Frigerio said, “Walla Walla is our largest project in Australia and a strong demonstration of our commitment to the country’s renewable energy goals. It reflects the capability of our team to deliver complex infrastructure and the strength of our partnerships with global leaders like Microsoft.”
The EPC contractor for the construction of Walla Walla Solar Farm was Gransolar.
