Located in Western Australia’s Wheatbelt, the 100MW, 4-hour Merredin BESS will enhance grid reliability and support the Western Australian Electricity Market as renewable generation increases.

Located adjacent to the Merredin Solar Farm, the BESS will be delivered over an 18-month period commencing once Genus receives a notice to proceed, with completion expected in early 2027.

Genus will oversee the design, procurement, installation and civil works, engaging over 70 personnel and drawing on significant local content from Western Australia.

“We’re proud to be delivering this flagship project with Atmos Renewables,” Genus managing director David Riches said.

“It’s a testament to our delivery capability and the trust our partners place in us as we continue to grow as a genuine force in the renewables sector.”
