Energy services provider Zinfra has renewed its operations and maintenance contract with its long-term customer United Energy.
After delivering on a four-year contract that began in 2018, Zinfra will continue as the lead provider of these services across United Energy’s electricity distribution network which moves electricity to and from more than 700,000 customers across Melbourne’s east, south east, and Mornington Peninsula.
Zinfra managing director Peter Iancov said he was delighted to continue the partnership with United Energy and service this important Victorian electricity distribution network.

“We have a deep industry experience and history of delivering safe and high quality operations, maintenance, emergency response, construction and commissioning services so we are pleased to continue working with United Energy as the service provider for their electricity network,” Iancov said.
“We are always working to improve the service we provide our clients, through a program of continuous capability uplift for our people, as well as introducing new ways of working that help us streamline our operations with a view of increasing safety, response time and overall productivity.
“This partnership, along with the services we provide on the Jemena and the AusNet Electricity Networks, would allow us to continually improve and offer significant tangible and measurable benefits to our customers whilst improving the asset performance and risk profile. We are seeking to align our goals with our customers goals and of course with their customers and communities that we all serve.”
In continuing as the operations and maintenance service provider across the United Energy network, Zinfra will continue to provide services that include responding to network faults, regular maintenance of United Energy’s overhead and underground electricity network together with augmentation and construction projects that are connecting United Energy’s new customers to the network.

In addition to servicing electricity distribution and transmission infrastructure across the National Electricity Market, Zinfra is also providing services in support of Australia’s energy transition, wide ranging from major transmission projects up to 500kV or some of the new asset types, including work on one of Australia’s first hydrogen demonstration projects—the Western Sydney Green Hydrogen Hub—as well as the Malabar Biomethane Project (which will soon inject, for the first time, carbon-neutral biomethane directly into the New South Wales gas distribution network).
Zinfra’s new agreement with United Energy commences on January 1, 2023, and will run for 18 months, with options to extend annually for another three years.
