The Sunraysia community is set to get on their bikes to support local causes with the return of the Powercor Tour de Depot.
Two charity partners, the Mildura Region School Breakfast Partnership (The Partnership) and Sunraysia Cancer Resources have been named as the official community partners for 2016, with funds raised distributed between the two.
Powercor regional business manager Ian Gillingham said the second Powercor Tour de Depot will raise awareness and funds for important local causes.
“Last year’s Mildura Powercor Tour de Depot was a resounding success, with hundreds of cyclists and spectators raising $75,000 for local charity The Lucas Foundation,” he said.
“We are pleased to be in a position to donate all funds raised to these two charities and we hope the Powercor Tour de Depot will encourage the local community to band together and support both of these important causes.”
The Mildura Region Schools Breakfast Partnership supports 13 local schools to provide more than 1000 breakfasts per week to children.
Sunraysia Cancer Resources offers support and information for people living with cancer, including helping with local and out of town services.
