Following its successful launch in Australia last year, PowerCap is expanding into Europe with its PowerCap PODs (Power On Demand), a breakthrough in sustainable energy storage that promises to transform the renewable energy landscape and help accelerate the shift towards a cleaner, more reliable, and more affordable energy supply.

PowerCap founder and CEO Dane El Safty said, “There is significant appetite across Europe for proven renewable energy technologies and we’re proud to be making Australian-engineered solutions available to international markets.

“The PowerCap battery is an advanced energy storage system that utilises sodium-ion technology as a safer and more sustainable alternative to traditional lithium batteries.

“Our PODs are designed to help communities and businesses lower energy costs, reduce environmental impact and strengthen energy security—outcomes that align closely with Europe’s renewable energy goals.”

Currently, most solar batteries are made from lithium, whereas sodium, an alternative alkali metal, forms the basis of sodium-ion batteries, offering a safer, more sustainable, and supply-chain-secure solution for energy storage cells and modules.
