To be built within NSW’s Central West Orana Renewable Energy Zone, the project recently received state planning approval.
Tallawang will comprise a 500MW solar farm, a 500MW/1000MWh DC-coupled energy storage system, and associated infrastructure.
“Reaching this milestone reflects extensive planning, thorough environmental assessment, and ongoing engagement with our stakeholders,” Potentia said via LinkedIn.
“Once operational, the project will generate clean energy to power more than 250,000 NSW homes each year.”
Potentia says construction is scheduled to begin in early 2027. The project is expected to support up to 420 jobs during its estimated three-year construction.
