Gunning Energy Park combines a 275MWdc solar farm with a 120MW battery energy storage system (BESS) that will connect to the National Electricity Market via a Transgrid transmission line.
Located approximately one hour north of Canberra near the township of Gunning in New South Wales, the project will generate enough clean electricity to power more than 76,000 homes.
The sale of Gunning Energy Park marks another milestone for Recurrent Energy, which recently reached financial close on the landmark Carwarp Energy Park in north-west Victoria.
The firm also recently developed and sold the Mannum BESS project in South Australia, a 100MW/200MWh battery energy storage system.
Recurrent Energy CEO Ismael Guerrer said, “We are proud to have executed the sale of our hybrid solar and battery project in Australia.
