Online retailer Kogan.com has launched its energy offering today – Kogan Energy, which it says will simplify the provision of power and gas for millions of Aussies and make these essential services more affordable through digital efficiency.
The Kogan Energy service provides residential customers with the competitive pricing and radical simplicity they have come to expect from Kogan.com, and is powered by a partnership with a subsidiary of Meridian Energy, Powershop Australia.
Kogan Energy is founded on the principle of everyday low pricing.
Pricing for Kogan Energy is extremely simple, and is comprised of a simple ‘per day’ charge plus a ‘per amount used’ charge.
Residential customers in Victoria, New South Wales, South East Queensland and South Australia can now easily switch to Kogan Energy for power, and gas is also available to customers in Victoria.
Once connected, Kogan Energy customers can monitor their power and gas usage and pay bills through one easy-to-use mobile app.
This new offering comes at a time when Australian households are facing some of the biggest challenges to affordable energy with the upcoming summer season.

The Australian Energy Market Operator’s recent 2019 Electricity Statement of Opportunities report points to soaring summer power prices across the country. While customers might feel they don’t have control over this industry-wide issue, Kogan Energy says it is giving Aussies the upper hand.
Customers in some locations can potentially pay up to 29 per cent less than the highest prices in the market and up to 18 per cent less than the reference price on their annual energy bills.
Meridian Energy is Australasia’s largest generator of renewable energy and owns and operates wind farms and hydro power stations. Meridian Energy’s subsidiary Powershop, will provide backend and system support for Kogan Energy customers.
