Canberra distributor rewards community involvement

ActewAGL has used social media to encourage customers to enter an energy efficiency competition.

Catherine Pitt from Flynn, ACT, recently won two ActewAGL competitions and can spend a $3000 voucher at an ActewAGL Energy Shop.

The customer initially won two tickets to the Canberra Times Home and Leisure Show by responding to a giveaway on ActewAGL’s Facebook page. While at the event Catherine entered a second ActewAGL competition for the ActewAGL Energy Shop voucher.

“We received a fantastic response with 2646 entries. The winning entry was drawn out of a barrel, which makes Catherine one very lucky customer,” ActewAGL retail sales manager Tony Muckle said.

“We know that our customers have specific energy needs and want to be comfortable during Canberra’s hot summers and freezing winters. That’s why the staff at the ActewAGL Energy Shop in Fyshwick can provide expert advice on heating, cooling, hot water and solar PV systems and excellent customer service from sale to installation.”

Ms Pitt said she felt “extremely lucky” to have won the competition.

“I already have a solar photovoltaic system at my home, so I’m looking at using the voucher to upgrade the system. This means I can reduce my impact on the environment even more and increase return on investment. Essentially, I’ll win again and again each time my bills come in.”
