“This achievement reflects years of dedication and collaboration across teams, with even more to come as the project continues to ramp up through commissioning,” the company said.
“The wind farm delivers local impact through community initiatives while actively strengthening Victoria’s energy system.
“Its 215 EnVentus V162-6.2 MW turbines help provide reliable renewable energy to Victoria’s power system while generating clean, homegrown electricity that helps lower Australians’ electricity bills.”
Golden Plains Wind Farm is located near Rokewood, a small rural town in Victoria. The site is located on land that is primarily used for agricultural purposes such as broad acre cropping and livestock grazing.
Construction recently commenced early this year on the 150MW/600MWh Golden Plains Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is planned as part of Golden Plains Wind Farm and construction commenced early 2026.
The battery storage project is located within Golden Plains Wind Farm – East project area next to the constructed wind farm 220kV substation. The BESS will consist of up to 168 Megapack XL 2.0 battery systems, substation, and operational facility.
