AusNet to develop transmission line for Victorian wind farm

AusNet Services has secured an agreement with Tilt Renewables to develop a new transmission line for the 54MW Salt Creek Wind Farm project in western Victoria.

Once fully commissioned, the wind farm is expected to produce on average 172GWh per annum, producing sufficient energy to power around 30,000 homes.

Ausnet executive general manager Chad Hymas said the company was committed to supporting Australiaโ€™s transition to renewable energy.

โ€œAusNet Services is proud to partner with Tilt Renewables for this significant wind farm development that will support western Victoriaโ€™s energy supply system and contribute to job growth in regional Victoria,โ€ Mr Hymas said.

The agreement follows an extensive period of collaborative planning and design between AusNet Services and Tilt Renewables in conjunction with industry and state planning bodies.

Mr Hymas said the project demonstrated progress towards AusNet Services strategy to be a leading modern energy company with a diverse asset portfolio, supporting the industryโ€™s transition to an efficient, secure, sustainable and integrated energy future.
