News reports say the 47-year-old male went into cardiac arrest after coming into contact with power lines along Darley Road in Randwick.

Co-workers performed CPR on the man until emergency services arrived on scene and took over. He was then rushed to St Vincent’s Hospital where he later died.

Safework NSW has begun an investigation into the workplace incident, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.

“Ausgrid is undertaking a full review of the circumstances and is assisting SafeWork NSW and the NSW Police with their inquiries,” the company said in a statement.
