The launch of the Give Me 5 For Kids 2016 fundraiser kicks off this week with a goal of raising $100,000 for the Canberra Hospital Women and Children’s Ward.
ActewAGL director marketing and corporate Affairs Paul Walshe said the company will giving the fundraiser a boost this year, with a $20,000 contribution.
“Funds raised through Give Me 5 For Kids stay local and support the Canberra Hospital Foundation who provide help and support for sick children and their families,” he said.
ActewAGL will be joining Southern Cross Ten and Mix 106.3 to get behind the charity in their quest to raise the funds by the end of June.
The Give Me 5 For Kids campaign helps The Canberra Hospital Foundation purchase items like feeding equipment needed for premature babies, fitbits to help children with Cystic Fibrosis to monitor their activity, and Nitrous Oxide machines that are needed to reopen consultation rooms.
ActewAGL is proud to support Give Me 5 For Kids as the local Community Partner for the fourth consecutive year.
“Throughout the fundraiser, we’ll be participating in a range of fundraising activities for Give Me 5 For Kids including donating a framed University of Canberra Capitals jersey signed by the 2015/16 squad to the Allbids Auction, answering the phones at the Give Me 5 For Kids Telethon on Southern Cross Ten on Thursday 23 June and hosting a Canberra Raiders signing session along with an outside broadcast with the team at Mix 106.3 on 12 July,” Mr Walshe said.
“ActewAGL will also be supporting Give Me 5 For Kids at the Canberra Brave v Melbourne Mustangs ActewAGL Game Day on Sunday 19 June where ActewAGL will be making a donation to Give Me 5 For Kids for every goal scored.
“This really is a great cause and one we may all benefit from at some stage, so we encourage everyone to get behind Give Me 5 For Kids and give what you can to help them reach the $100,000 goal.”
