Queensland-owned CS Energy will sell its 50% stake in the Boulder Creek Wind Farm project to Aula Energy.

A statement on the project’s website said, “The agreement reflects the Queensland Energy Roadmap’s focus on attracting private investment in new energy infrastructure, while enabling CS Energy to continue its focus on operating its existing generation portfolio.”

CS Energy will continue to offtake 100% of the energy generated by the 228MW wind project.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has approved the transaction and all existing arrangements for project delivery, community engagement, and benefit-sharing will continue under the current model.

The Boulder Creek Wind Farm is being constructed in the ranges between Mount Morgan and Westwood, approximately 40km south-west of Rockhampton.

CS Energy is currently being sued by Czech-based investment group Sev.en Global Investments, which owns half of Callide Power Station through its subsidiary IG Power.

IGPC has filed a statement of claim in the Federal Court of Australia concerning the actions of CS Energy as the state-owned operator of Callide C Power Station in Queensland.

These concerns include the explosion of the C4 generator in 2021, the collapse of the C3 cooling towers in 2022, and the explosion of the C3 boiler in 2025.

IGPC’s claim seeks to hold CS Energy and Callide Energy Pty Ltd (CEPL) accountable for the management of Callide C Power Station and its representations to the joint venture. IGPC is looking to recover losses in excess of $1 billion.
