Lewis was formerly the executive general manager of the Consumer, Markets and Analytics team.

He will lead the AEMC during an interim period to progress crucial policy work across its four strategic priorities: addressing consumer framework issues, advancing Consumer Energy Resources integration, developing long-term market design for a net-zero future, and enabling efficient delivery of transmission infrastructure.

The AEMC will be running an external recruitment process to appoint a new chief executive.
