Westinghouse Solar brand comes to Australia

Diversified renewable energy company CBD Energy Limited (CBD) has negotiated a sub-licence for use of products by US solar system manufacturer Westinghouse Solar.

Westinghouse Solar and CBD are expected to merge in a pending deal that will most likely be completed in the third quarter of 2013.

Completion of the merge will need the okay from shareholders in both Westinghouse Solar and CBD.

Westinghouse chief executive officer Margaret Randazzo told Energy Business News the agreement is a continuation of the company’s collaborative efforts with CBD.

“There is tremendous opportunity in the Australian solar power market and the expansion of the Westinghouse Solar brand through our partnership with CBD allows us to further diversify our business,” Ms Randazzo said.
