Transgrid choppers out to inspect lines

Riverina residents can expect to see some low-flying helicopters as TransGrid undertakes it’s annual inspection of high voltage transmission lines this week.

Community engagement specialist Melissa Maurer said the inspections formed part of the line maintenance program, which ensures the reliability and safety of the network.

“During this time, local residents may see lowflying helicopters moving along our transmission lines,” she said.

“We would like to thank the community for their understanding as we carry our inspection program.”

Weather permitting, residents can expect to see the helicopters as follows:

Thursday – Griffith, Griffith, Yanco, Darlington Point, Coleambally, Deniliquin and Finley

Friday – Finley, Uranquinty, Wagga Wagga and Yanco

Saturday – Wagga Wagga, Talbingo, Blowering Dam, Tumut, Gardara, Jindera and Dederang
