TransGrid, the manager and operator of the New South Wales high-voltage electricity transmission network, today announced the appointment of Jason Conroy as chief financial officer, effective March 4, 2019.

Mr Conroy was chief financial officer at energy utility operator DUET Group for nine years and most recently served as chief executive officer at MMJ Group Holdings Limited. As part of his role at DUET, Mr Conroy successfully co-led a significant transformation through mergers and acquisitions, recapitalisations and restructuring.

TransGrid CEO Paul Italiano said Mr Conroy’s energy industry experience would play a critical role in the organisation’s future at a time of significant and dynamic change across the energy sector.

“Jason brings a wealth of experience across capital markets, investment and corporate finance. His knowledge of the energy industry and utilities is an ideal fit for TransGrid as we continue to respond to technological change and consumer expectations” Mr Italiano said.

“TransGrid is directly focussed on delivering safe, reliable electricity to consumers while also minimising our contribution to everyday energy bills. I am delighted to welcome Jason to the TransGrid team and look forward to working with him.”
