Australia’s only solar panel manufacturer, Tindo Solar, has donated $10,000 worth of solar panels to Tanunda Cricket Club in South Australia, helping it slash its electricity bills and emissions.
The club is making a big leap towards sustainability, having received 74 cutting-edge Walara Series solar panels from Tindo. Thanks to this generous donation, the club now boasts a 31.45kW solar system that will assist them in generating their own clean energy while slashing their power costs.

Additionally, the solar upgrade will offset approximately 25 tonnes of CO2 each year—roughly the equivalent of planting over 4,670 trees over the lifetime of the system.
Designed and engineered in South Australia, the Walara Series solar panels are the eighth generation of modules produced by Tindo. What’s more, they are the only Australian-made solar panels to carry the Australian Made certification, and incorporate N-Type cells—a first for solar technology manufactured in Australia.
Tanunda Cricket Club’s Solar Energy System project was also made possible thanks to a $20,000 Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund grant, jointly funded by both Cricket Australia and the South Australian Cricket Association, as well as a$15,500 contribution from The Barossa Council.
Tanunda Cricket Club president Stuart Swan said, “We are incredibly grateful to Tindo for this generous contribution. This solar system will make a significant difference to our club’s operations, helping us become more sustainable while also reducing our energy costs.
“Those savings can now go back into providing cricket programs for the local community as well as purchasing equipment for our players. It’s great to see local businesses supporting local clubs, and this partnership with Tindo is a fantastic example of community spirit at its best.”
