Synergy investing in rooftop solar and battery systems

Western Australian energy provider Synergy has entered the domestic solar PV market.

SolarReturn offers customers access to a range of low maintenance solar system packages, along with specialised support.

Chief executive officer Jason Waters said throughout the course of 2016, Synergy will release a suite of solar and battery products “because it represents the future of the sector”.

“[Solar and and battery] is increasingly how traditional utilities are meeting customer demand,” he said.

“Currently we’re receiving more than 100 enquiries a week which is pleasing to see. We know customers want solar and they want to consider Synergy as one of their options.”

Although Western Australia has one of the highest rates of solar PV penetration in the nation, customer research shows more than 70 per cent of households have little knowledge about the costs and benefits of installing solar.

“For customers considering solar PV, they need to have confidence in making informed decisions and finding the right solution for them,” Mr Waters said.

“We can advise on the right solar solution for them, while taking care of all the details – including system design, applications management, installation and post sales service.”

Given the interest in SolarReturn to date, Synergy is seeking additional solar industry suppliers to assist in the delivery of SolarReturn products and services to customers.

“An expression of interest will be released shortly inviting the solar industry to partner Synergy in delivering SolarReturn to customers”, Mr Waters said.
