The program is open to recent graduates and engineers with up to five years of post-grad experience, offering experience in real-world energy operations, mentorship from industry leaders, and tailored development pathways. The successful applicants will be given hands-on experience, professional development, and a genuine work-life balance.

Stanwell general manager southern generation Mick Joy said Stanwell’s new program was a game-changer for engineers looking to build their careers in regional Queensland.

“This program is a chance to work on real projects, with real impact, in one of the most critical industries,” he said.

“At Tarong power stations, our engineers are immersed in complex systems and real operational challenges from day one.

“It’s a place where you can grow professionally while enjoying the lifestyle and community of the South Burnett.”

Stanwell general manager central generation Angie Zahra said the program would give early-career engineers the chance to step straight into meaningful work.

“Our new program isn’t just about learning, it’s about contributing, being mentored, and building a career with purpose,” she said.

“Our engineers at Stanwell Power Station work on some of the most critical infrastructure in Queensland’s energy network, all while living in a vibrant community that’s welcoming and has easy access to the coast and national parks.”
