Stanwell’s hydrogen project team has returned from Asia following a successful trip discussing Stanwell’s hydrogen project.

Facilitated by Austrade and Trade Investment Queensland the team met with 14 companies and government agencies across Japan and Korea. The project received an overwhelmingly positive response and Stanwell anticipates further discussions with a number of potential partners.

Both nations have a holistic view of the hydrogen market recognising that participating in the entire supply chain including infrastructure, technology, trading and transport, will be important to realising their ambitions in achieving a hydrogen economy. This creates a number of opportunities for Stanwell to partner with companies across the supply chain and expand the expertise brought to the project.

Japan and Korea both have ambitious national hydrogen targets and the Stanwell project is well positioned to play a role in supporting the achievement of these targets, whilst also playing an integral role in developing the hydrogen industry in Central Queensland.
