Origin gas boss steps down

Origin Energy’s Integrated Gas chief executive officer David Baldwin has announced he will step down from his role at the end of April.

Current general manager commercial Mark Schubert has been appointed executive general manager Integrated Gas, effective from May 1, according to a statement from Origin.

“David has had a distinguished career at Origin over the past 11 years,” Origin CEO Frank Calabria said.

“As CEO of our Integrated Gas business, his outstanding achievement was executing the Australia Pacific LNG project.

“Prior to his current role, David was CEO of our LNG business and successfully merged it with our conventional gas assets to form Integrated Gas.

“With Australia Pacific LNG on track to complete its final milestones – and Origin’s decision to sell its conventional upstream business – David has decided that it is the right time for him to step down.

“David has made a lasting impression at Origin, and we are grateful for his huge contribution.”

Mr Calabria said the company was pleased to appoint Mr Shubert to lead Integrated Gas as it continues to transition from a project to operations with a focus on productivity and reducing unit costs.

Mr Baldwin will remain with Origin for a period of time as an advisor to the CEO to assist on key projects.
