New Energy and Natural Resources industry leader for KPMG Australia

KPMG Australia today confirmed Cassandra Hogan as the new head of its Energy and Natural Resources (ENR) industry group. Ms Hogan’s appointment commenced on December 1, 2019 when she assumed the leadership of the firm’s mining, oil and gas, power and utilities practices.

KPMG Australia CEO Gary Wingrove said the company is delighted to announce the appointment of Cassandra Hogan as the new Head of ENR at KPMG Australia.

Cassandra takes over from Ted Surette who has provided strong leadership for ENR in Australia since 2015.

Ted will continue to lead KPMG’s Global Power & Utilities group.

Mr Wingrove said that Cassandra Hogan’s background of working with ENR clients for more than a decade would be invaluable given the challenges and opportunities in the sector. He highlighted her extensive client experience in key areas including business strategy, operational excellence, organisational change, and complex transformation projects.

“Cassandra has been the sector leader for KPMG Power and Utilities for the past four years and has worked on key energy and water engagements in the sector. Since joining the firm in 2007, she has been a major contributor to the growth of KPMG’s Power and Utilities practice demonstrating strong leadership qualities as well as outstanding industry knowledge,” he said.

Cassandra Hogan said she was delighted to have been appointed as KPMG Australia’s ENR leader.

“Energy & Natural Resources is a growth area for Australian companies and it continues to be a major contributor to our GDP,” Ms Hogan said.

Prior to joining KPMG, Cassandra Hogan had a successful 16-year career in industry holding senior national positions in the energy sector.
