On International Women’s Day, Energy Networks Australia (ENA) has announced an award to recognise the vital contributions of women to the energy sector.

The ‘Women in Networks’ award will highlight an exceptional individual contribution to the energy sector and is open to ENA member organisations.

The new award will form part of ENA’s annual awards program held each September.
ENA CEO Dominique van den Berg said while women are still underrepresented in the energy sector, there are now a number of initiatives in place to recognise their contributions.

“On International Women’s Day, we acknowledge the incredible impact women make to the energy sector, advancing progress towards net zero,” van den Berg said.

“ENA’s new ‘Women in Networks’ award is one way that we can put women’s achievements into the spotlight and work towards closing the gender gap.”

Award nominations can be made by ENA Members mid-year. An independent panel will consider the nominations and a final decision will be made by the ENA Board in July.

The recipient of this year’s ‘Women in Networks’ award will receive a presentation at the ENA annual dinner in September, be recognised via ENA media platform, and receive one full registration to the Energy Networks 2026 Conference + Exhibition.
