EUAA Victorian Energy Forum

Jul 26, 2017

The shutdown of Hazelwood Power station emphasises the dramatic changes taking place in Victorian energy. A shift that is unsettling and creating risks – but how do we manage those risks to thrive in this new energy environment?

The one-day Victorian Energy Forum will focus on local issues facing Victorian energy users and market participants. This is an opportunity to get informed about the unique challenges faced in the state and consider the implications nationally.

The forum will address big questions including:

  • What does a future without Hazelwood power station mean for Victorian energy users?
  • Will the departure of Hazelwood leave our market in a more perilous situation than South Australia and how do we manage this risk?
  • What are the opportunities to grow a brighter future? And how does business survive the transition period?

Confirmed speakers include: Victorian Shadow Energy Minister, David Southwick MP; Dr Ariel Liebman, Deputy Director of the Monash Energy Materials and Systems Institute (MEMSI); Dr Amanda Caples, Victoria’s Lead Scientist; and Lisa Zembrodt, Manager Markets and Strategy, Energy and Sustainability Services, Schneider Electric.
