Energy Hack 2017

Oct 20, 2017 @ 8:00 am - Oct 22, 2017 @ 5:00 pm

What do we need for a faster, more productive, cheaper and cleaner energy system?

As power prices in Australia continue to soar upwards and the threat of a repeat of state-wide blackouts loom – finding the key to unlocking reliable, 24-7, high quality, cheap, climate friendly energy at scale is becoming more and more urgent.

The race is on and the question on everyone’s lips is: what will it take for Australia, with its abundant renewable resources, to lead the global marketplace in this space?

This two-day hackathon, hosted by the Melbourne Energy Institute, will bring researchers from diverse disciplines together with experts in energy and digital technology from both business and policy representing knowledge sets from across the sector. Unlock ideas, educate influencers and stimulate entrepreneurship in the energy industry worldwide.

This year, the event will focus on two themes: Community Power, and the Virtual Power Plant.

There are no pre-requisites to join. Anyone with an interest in energy or a passion for learning and problem solving is welcome.
