Following its successful International Symposium in Cairns in 2023, CIGRE Australia will again hold a suite of conferences, with the overarching theme Shaping the Power Systems of Tomorrow.
The joint event will include:
- The two-day 9th South East Asia Protection, Control and Automation Conference (SEAPAC25)
- The two-day 6th Conference on Integration of Distributed Energy Resources (CIDER25)
- A three-day general conference focusing on the energy transition
- CIGRE tutorials and workshops including a workshop on DER from five perspectives; planning, operations, markets/regulation, integration and IT/cybersecurity
- A NextGen Power Professionals seminar by CIGRE Australia NGN focusing on early career professional development
- A leadership breakfast event hosted by Women in Energy
- An exhibition hall to network with peers and meet Australian and international partners and suppliers to our industry
- A gala dinner and other social and networking events.
Focus areas
The general conference stream will be held over three days on 2nd, 3rd & 4th September 2025, with six focus areas:
- Digitalisation
- Solar, wind energy and emerging energy sources
- Storage
- Hydrogen
- Grids and flexibility
- Consumers, prosumers and EVs.
The general stream of the symposium focuses on the integrated power system and the transformation into the power system of the future.

SEAPAC25 and CIDER25 will both be held on 3rd and 4th September 2025.
Conference registration fees for access to all three days and the Gala Dinner start from only $1,350 (inc. GST) for members and $1,650 (inc. GST) for non-members.
