Ergon Energy has been voted second best of the 75 Top Graduate Employers.
The rankings list was created following a survey of more than 1900 graduates conducted by the Australian Association of Graduate Employers, the peak body for the graduate recruitment and development market.
Graduates who have had up to 12 months of full-time experience with the business were invited to complete the survey that focused on orientation and induction, training and development, career progression, quality of work, supervisor or manager, compensation and benefits, work/life balance and company culture.
Ergon graduates undergo a three-year rotational program with six rotations. Four rotations are ‘core’ in the areas of protection, planning, design and a field rotation. The other two, whilst nominated by the graduates, are balanced against current business requirements.Graduate Talent Committee chair Jason Hall said Ergon’s program has focus on “keeping things relevant and up-to-date especially with technology”.
“The graduates are assigned a mentor, who for some continues with the graduate well after the program. For many this is valuable in terms of coaching and career development,” he said.
