Australian Energy Council appoints new Chair and Deputy Chair

The Australian Energy Council (AEC) Board has appointed Brett Redman as its new Chair and Greg Everett as Deputy Chair.

AEC Chief Executive Sarah McNamara said, “Both Mr Redman and Mr Everett bring a wealth of experience to the leadership of the energy industry’s peak body.

“This will be invaluable as we continue to manage the transformation of the industry and respond to a period of intense regulatory change and government focus.

“We are pleased to have two such respected energy executives to lead the Board.”

Brett Redman is Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of AGL Energy and Greg Everett is Chief Executive of Delta Electricity.

“I would also like to thank Jeff Dimery, our outgoing Chair, and Stephen Davy, who was Deputy Chair, for their excellent stewardship of the AEC Board over the past two years,” Ms McNamara said.

“Their guidance and support has been greatly valued during a period of significant adjustment for the industry.”

Jeff Dimery, Chief Executive Officer of Alinta Energy, will remain on the AEC Board. Stephen Davy, Chief Executive Officer of Hydro Tasmania has stepped down from the Board. Amy Childs, Managing Director of Momentum Energy, has been elected to take his place.
