Australia has officially joined the World Energy Council as the newest member committee, underscoring the nation’s commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions.
The World Energy Council is the oldest independent and impartial energy community, connecting leaders, industries, governments and innovators across the world.

The Australian Member Committee will be hosted by the Australian Institute of Energy (AIE), a leading organisation committed to advancing knowledge and understanding of energy across Australia.
World Energy Council CEO Dr Angela Wilkinson said, “We are delighted to welcome Australian energy leadership into the World Energy Council’s diverse, inclusive and intergenerational community.
“As a key player in the Asia-Pacific region, Australia’s inclusion will be pivotal in driving forward new and innovative solutions to the energy challenges of today and tomorrow.”
AIE president Katie McKenzie commented, “We are incredibly proud to serve as the host organisation for Australia’s National Member Committee of the World Energy Council.

As the newest Member Committee, Australia will have a seat at the table in the World Energy Council’s global discussions—particularly its flagship World Energy Congress— influencing energy leadership strategy at a critical time of transformation.
