Ausgrid has welcomed Marc England as its new CEO following the departure of Richard Gross after six years at the helm.
Ausgrid chair Dr Helen Nugent AC said, “Marc brings a wealth of global experience to his position as Ausgrid’s new CEO, and we look forward to seeing him further enhance Ausgrid’s position within the Australian energy industry as we transition to a renewables future.”

For the past six years, England was CEO of New Zealand’s publicly listed Genesis Energy. Prior to that he worked for AGL in Sydney including as group head of strategy and as executive general manager new energy, as well as executive roles for British Gas in the UK.
Complemented by his people-first approach, purpose driven leadership and breadth of skills across engineering, finance and operations, England’s global experience and strategic vision will champion Ausgrid’s role in the transformation to a sustainable energy industry. Through innovation, he is committed to ensuring our energy consumers play a role in enabling a more sustainable future.
Marc has a Master of Engineering (Mechanical and European Studies) from the University of Sussex and an MBA from Imperial College London.
