Aurora Energy launches education program

Tasmanian electricity distributor and retailer Aurora Energy has launched the 2013 Aurora-Tasdance Education Program, giving thousands of children and their parents the chance to experience contemporary dance and theatre performance.

The program will provide a range of educational dance activities, including the performance project Bright Spark, school workshops, community projects and the Tasdance School of Performing Arts.

Aurora chief executive officer Peter Davis said the company has been a long-term sponsor of the education program because of the value it delivers to Tasmanian children and to Tasmania’s burgeoning arts sector.

“For many young Tasmanians in regional and rural areas, the Aurora-Tasdance Education program is the only exposure they will receive to contemporary dance,” he said.

“This partnership is now in its 15th year and is a great example of Aurora’s emphasis on promoting healthy and diverse programs for young Tasmanians across the state.”
