Animated graph shows global solar uptake since 1990

An animated graph developed by Creative Nurds shows the global uptake of solar in the period of 1990 to 2018, with some fascinating trends emerging.

Starting in 1990, the US has a dominant position as the leader of solar generation in megawatt hours, with various countries taking over before China becomes the clear leader in 2018. Watch the animation below.

The figures used in the animation are from the BP Statistical Review of World Energy, Worldbank.org.
