AGL Energy has announced that Richard Wrightson has resigned from the role of Executive General Manager, Wholesale Markets, a position he has held for nearly 10 years.

AGL CEO Brett Redman said, โ€œRichard has made a significant contribution during his time at AGL. He has been a passionate supporter of AGL and has established a strong foundation for growth and transformation in the future. We thank Richard for his service and wish him well in his future career.โ€

AGL says Richard will continue in his role until early 2020 and will work closely with the CEO and AGLโ€™s Wholesale Markets team to ensure a smooth and orderly transition of the role.

On his resignation, Mr Wrightson said, โ€œA little bit of a sad day for me as Iโ€™ve decided to resign from AGL.

โ€œI will still be around supporting my team through the transition but it is time to do something new.โ€
