ActewAGL has announced a one-year deal to become a major partner of AFL South Coast. The partnership will see ActewAGL become the naming rights sponsor for the AFL South Coast Shoalhaven Juniors league.

The company’s director marketing and corporate affairs Paul Walshe said ActewAGL is more interested in supporting grass roots-level community activities in south-east NSW, than “being on the jumper of a professional football club”.

“ActewAGL will also be the naming rights sponsor for the three-day Shoalhaven junior AFL representative carnival in July. There’ll be over 2000 players, support staff and parents attending this great event, with teams represented in the 12, 14, 17 and youth girls age divisions,” he said.

“The AFL South Coast Shoalhaven Juniors league covers teams from Wollongong down to Batemans Bay, so it’s great to be able to support such a large part of the community. This is an exciting opportunity for our organisation and we look forward to working with AFL South Coast.”

AFL South Coast chairman Oscar Gregory said the support will help encourage more girls and boys in the Shoalhaven region to get active outdoors.
