Rennie will establish grid connections as the firm’s fourth service line via the acquisition of the Australian, Malaysian and Indian licences, capability, and assets of Vysus Grid.
The acquisition brings together Rennie’s existing capabilities across strategy and operations, capital advisory, and economics, reform and sustainability.

Founded in 2003 as eConnect Australia, the Vysus grid team has delivered more than 280 connection projects representing over 20 gigawatts of connected generation and storage capacity across Australia.
Its experience spans more than 145 wind farms, 75 solar farms, and 35 battery and hybrid renewable energy projects, making it one of the most experienced specialist grid connection teams in the country.
The team’s project history includes some of Australia’s most significant renewable energy developments, including the 420MW Macarthur Wind Farm in Victoria, the Hornsdale Wind Farm and the Hornsdale Power Reserve in South Australia, together with numerous large-scale wind, solar, and battery developments across the National Electricity Market.
The 21-person team will join Rennie in full across Melbourne, Kuala Lumpur, and Bangalore.
The acquisition also marks Rennie’s formal expansion into Asia through permanent operations in Malaysia and India. The Kuala Lumpur and Bangalore offices will serve as regional hubs supporting clients across the Asia-Pacific energy sector, providing power systems engineering, regulatory advisory, strategy and investment support to clients operating throughout the region.

The Grid Connections team will provide support across all seven AEMO connection stages, including connection strategy, feasibility studies, power system modelling, detailed connection studies, acceptance testing, commissioning support, and ongoing performance validation.
