ENGIE head of sustainability and social performance Jacqui Niemand says this program has made a meaningful contribution to a number of local community initiatives since its inception.

“ENGIE launched the grants program in 2022, contributing a total of $20,000 across seven great community groups and initiatives, followed by a total of $50,000 across another seven grants in 2023,” Niemand says.

“Previous grants have been awarded to the Nundle Sport and Recreation Club, to cover its building and contents insurance and allow it to continue to provide services to its members. Funding also supported the establishment of the Nundle Foodbank in 2022, and upgrades at both the Hanging Rock and Wallabadah community halls.

“The 2024 Hills of Gold Wind Farm Grants Program will provide one-off cash contributions of up to $5,000, with a total of $20,000 available.

“The program is open to any not-for-profit community group or committee who deliver benefits to the communities within 20km of the Hills of Gold project site—including Nundle, Hanging Rock, Timor and Crawney.”
